The Beauty of Illumination and Gilding

Level:  Introductory/Beginners but all levels welcome

In this informative workshop you will learn all you need to know to achieve beautiful illuminations.  My goal will be to have you understand the various styles such as diaper patterns, acanthus leaf, and various vines, and how they are executed.  Using a power point presentation and demonstration, I will take you through the step by step process of properly tracing a design, inking, gilding and painting a decorated letter.  You will learn the application of paint, shading, blending, application of white designs and retouching.  I will also demonstrate gilding using Instacoll gilding medium.  The goal of this class is for you to have a good base of knowledge to complete a future artwork.
