Italic and Variations: Coming Soon (Date TBD)

Italic and Variations: Coming Soon (Date TBD)

We will begin with an elegant version of Italic whose influences go as far back as Ludovico Arrighi (1522), and Bernardino Cataneo (1544), and are as contemporary as Dick Beasley and Jacki Svaren. After steeping ourselves in this style, we will generate strikingly different variations, pushing the envelope, perhaps causing us to ask “What is Italic?” Every session, we will work with a variety of papers, writing fluids, nibs, and techniques, as well as layouts and designs. Beginners through advanced welcome.
